Virtual Yoga Comments
Thanks, Rachel, for doing the 'Zoom' classes for yoga - it is so convenient to do to this in my home, and it is just like doing the class @ CTK but BETTER, you do not have to drive...we can all still communicate and catch up as well. It is so easy - just need a phone or a laptop. We are truly blessed!!! - Patsy
We all would love to meet in person for class, but that is not possible. Zoom yoga has been a lifesaver! I get all the benefits of yoga class and don't have to leave my home. It is focused and has all the benefits of a regular class guided by Rachel. I feel my practice is just as meaningful as if I were in the classroom. - Pat
The technology involved is very simple, and once it is done, it is routine. The advantage of this virtual class includes saving a lot of driving time. Sometimes it takes an hour for me to get to the clasee with the traffic. There are no such problems with the virtual class. I don’t see any disadvantage. This is definitely the way to go with the current situation. - Sathyamoorthi
Thru all of this pandemic, I have focused on letting go of what I can't control, which is pretty much everything and being grateful for what is in front of me. I don't think I could have done any of it without yoga. - Michelle
One of my tests for a good session is if I question, "why am I doing this" and then feeling great "that I did it.” - Ira
I'm so grateful you decided to continue with the Yoga classes online. I can't say enough about how yoga complements my life mostly now during these different times. I think it’s been very easy to follow you on the screen since we already know the poses. I enjoy seeing everybody every Tuesday and Thursday and get to know them better, too. Overall, I feel I have almost the same experience as going to CTK. I just miss that we can laugh all together at the same time. - Amalia
Rachel, thank you for providing yoga classes per Zoom. Being able to practice yoga at home during this time has been extremely helpful and convenient for me. Logging in to Zoom has been a smooth process.- Nora
Yoga In General
As a 59 1/2 year old tennis player, I was battling injuries to my hip and shoulder, and also had nagging lower back issues. I was thinking that my tennis days might be coming to an end. My wife was pushing yoga, and I was desperate enough to agree to give it a go. But there was no way I could handle a public class. A friend recommended Rachel and I took the leap. Rachel works with my imperfect body, and over the past 8 months the results have been relatively stunning ( for an old guy anyway). Hip pain has disappeared, my shoulder is pretty much pain free, and my speed on the court has significantly improved. For the first time in years, I am waking up without any pain. I'm back to playing singles and my body just feels like a decade younger. - Stephen R.
Since Rachel has been coming to offer yoga classes to my staff onsite for the last couple of years, I have found myself truly looking forward to that one hour to myself at the end of a long, stressful day. For one hour, we turn off everything and just focus on us - on our breathing, our flexibility, on our strength, on US. It has made such a huge difference for me personally as far as flexibility and strength, but mainly, there is a sense of calm and peace that I continue to benefit from throughout my day. Rachel is the perfect instructor! She is a master at reading the level of competency and comfort of each of us and can tailor the class around those different levels, offering alternative positions as needed. Thanks Rachel for making a huge difference in my life and in the the lives of my team. - Lisa R.
I have taken yoga classes from Rachel for about 6 years. Over that time, I have built strength, gained flexibility, and learned a lot about what my body is capable of achieving. I am so much stronger now than I was a decade ago, and Rachel has been a wonderful and knowledgeable teacher and guide in this endeavor. I have seen my fellow classmates progress over the years we have taken classes together (men and women, some young, and some not so young, including a few that began in their 70’s!). Rachel has a warm and engaging way of leading her students through class and genuinely seems to care about each of them. She often takes workshops to learn from even more experienced teachers, which her students benefit from. With yoga I fully expect to remain stronger and more limber than I would have dreamed possible before beginning practicing yoga. I consider it an investment in my body and mind, that will continue to pay huge dividends into the future. - Christine C.
Yoga allows me to get centered, to have flexibility and to let stress go. - Barbara C.
Running my whole life, 3-5 times a week, has caused my joints and legs to stiffen much more than usual. Yoga helps me stretch them out and feel more loose before and after I run now. It's also a great mental compliment to my normal physical workshops. - Christian R.
Yoga has been a great opportunity for me to slow down and concentrate on getting quiet and listening to my body. Although I have worked out most of my adult life, stretching has never been a regular activity for me. Yoga has made a hug difference in my flexibility. - Debe K.
Rachel is an inspiring yoga instructor. She is attentive to her students and concerned for their well being. She kindly makes adjustments to our poses, she encourages us to improve our practice while at the same time providing the instruction and basics we need to move forward. I find my yoga classes leave me feeling stronger, more connected with myself and prepared to navigate my day. I eagerly anticipate my yoga classes and would recommend Rachel's yoga instruction to all levels of yogis. - Kathy M.
I have been participating in the Yoga Flow and Go class for several months, and have gained much knowledge, especially proper alignment. It didn’t take long before I noticed improvements in my strength and form.Rachel emphasizes slow and gentle movements with a variety of poses at each class. This keeps it new and interesting, so I always look forward to the next session. I enjoy the diversity of the group and appreciate everyone’s support, which motivates me to keep coming back. I find that I am more aware of my breath and this helps me become more centered in my daily life.Thank you, Rachel! - Betsy D.
